A South Florida resident for over 40 years, Tom participated in Martin County’s Community Redevelopment Planning process for 10 years and served as a Board Member and Chair of the Hobe Sound Neighborhood Advisory Committee.
Tom entered the insurance industry after crossing over from a background in marine science and environmental consulting, where he worked for state and federal agencies and served as a multi-disciplinary team member providing environmental assessments, regulatory permitting and documentation in support of numerous public and private projects ranging from single family lots to FDOT bridges and Department of the Navy projects.
Tom’s professional background is rooted in effective communication and customer service, and he enjoys continuing to build those skills while helping Brightway customers find insurance that meets their needs.
Tom and his wife Cindy have raised two daughters in Hobe Sound’s Zeus Park neighborhood.
Elora, a South Fork High School IB program graduate with a masters from Johns Hopkins School of Nursing, is a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit nurse, and Bella, who attended The Pine School in Hobe Sound, holds a degree in environmental sciences from Washington & Lee University in Virginia and is currently a National Park Ranger in Wyoming.
Hobe Sound locals may know Elora and Isabella as the two little girls who created EllieBellie’s Sunshine Shop to share their lifelong love of art and reading with many children in Martin County and beyond.
Outside the office, Tom enjoys spending time with his family and staying active in, on and under the water, while paddling, surfing, diving, boating, and taking long walks along the shoreline to pick up marine debris.
