JACKSONVILLE, FLA. — Florida Specialty Insurance Company was placed into receivership Oct. 2. This means that all Florida Specialty policies will be canceled effective 12:01 a.m. Friday, Nov. 1, unless you were otherwise notified that your policy was to be terminated prior to that date.
As an insurance agency, our obligation is to help find our current Florida Specialty customers replacement coverage. Your Brightway agent represents more insurance companies than other agents and can find you replacement coverage.
Several of our insurance company partners have stepped forward and will accept customers whose policies lapsed due to the policy deadline.
We have proactively reached out to all Brightway customers who have a Florida Specialty policy and transitioned some policies, but there are many customers who we have not yet been able to reach whose coverage is vulnerable because their policies have not yet been rewritten with another insurance company.

If your Homeowners insurance is paid through your mortgage company, your mortgage company may “force place” your insurance. This coverage is expensive, is not refundable and provides very little coverage.
If possible, please have your Florida Specialty policy number ready so we can most efficiently handle your call.
