DECATUR, GA. — Residents in Decatur and surrounding communities can now experience a better way to buy insurance for their homes, vehicles and much more as Carolyn McGhee opens Brightway, The Carolyn McGhee Agency today in her hometown. The agency is located at One West Court Square, Suite 750 in Decatur (in the Regus office building).
“Being a Brightway Agency Owner is all about being a pillar in your community,” said McGhee. “I chose to become a part of the Brightway family because it allows me to use my platform to help change the lives of individuals through community involvement, and I can provide expert counsel to help my friends and neighbors understand their coverages.”
Born and raised in Atlanta, McGhee brings more than six years of insurance experience to Brightway. She worked for State Farm in the Auto and Homeowners Claims Departments as well as in the Insurance Sales Department. She also has more than 15 years of customer service experience. McGhee graduated from South Atlanta High School in 2007. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida, and a Master of Arts in Organizational Management from Ashford University in San Diego, California. McGhee says her drive to succeed and her passion for her community stems from her youth.
“I was born and raised in the inner city to a single mother who raised four children. My neighborhood was surrounded by drugs, poverty and street violence,” she said. “I was determined to have a better future, and I knew that this could only be done through consistent hard work and higher education.”
McGhee says volunteering is good for the soul. She enjoys giving back to the community through organizations such as Hands On Atlanta, Habitat for Humanity and Salvation Army. As an Brightway Agency Owner, she looks forward to educating and empowering consumers so they can make the best decisions about their insurance needs. Furthermore, she aims to inspire others so they can protect their assets for the now and for the future.
“Carolyn brings extensive industry knowledge and expertise in the Atlanta insurance landscape to the Agency, and we’re confident she will be extremely successful with the holistic support she receives from Brightway,” said Brightway President and CEO Michael Miller. “We are thrilled to have her join the Brightway family and look forward to our partnership with her to grow our brand in Georgia.”
