EAST ROCKAWAY, N.Y. — While the country’s response to the Coronavirus has caused many business operations to pause, Brightway Insurance remains committed to customers and to people who want to build their own business with the holistic support Brightway offers. More residents on Long Island and throughout New York can experience a better way to buy insurance for their homes, vehicles and much more as insurance veteran and now Brightway Agency Owner, Matthew Schor, will open Brightway, The Schor Family Agency in East Rockaway Monday, May 11. While he is currently working from home because of the pandemic, he will open an office once officials lift stay-at-home orders and things get back to normal.

“I had been an insurance agent with a company that just sold one brand of insurance for a while and was unable to offer my clients a diverse suite of companies to find them the best combination of coverages they need. As a Brightway Agency Owner, I can customize policies from a variety of companies to offer clients the best value,” said Schor.

A Long Island native and graduate of Lynbrook High School, Schor comes to Brightway with five years of experience as an Insurance Agent. Most recently, he owned a captive agency, Allstate, in nearby Melville. Schor studied at Hofstra University in Hempstead, where he earned a Bachelor in Business Administration in Finance. Schor married wife, Hillary, in 2018, and the two welcomed a baby boy to the family in December 2019. The family loves going to the beach and playing tennis. Schor is involved in his local temple and a local Business Network International group.

“As a Brightway Agency Owner, I am most looking forward being able to help my clients with their insurance needs and having them as my clients for a long time,” Schor added.

“Matthew knows the local area and with Brightway he can offer far more options to his customers than he was previously able to provide as a captive agent,” said Brightway President and CEO Michael Miller. “We’re excited to partner with him to grow our brand in New York and expect him to be wildly successful with the holistic business support he’ll receive from Brightway.”

Brightway, The Schor Family Agency offers customized Home, Condo, Renters, Auto, Flood, RV, Motorcycle, Boat and Umbrella and insurance policies from numerous insurance brands including Appalachian Underwriters, Bankers, Hagerty, Mercury, National Risk Solutions, Progressive, Universal Property and Casualty, Wright Flood and many more. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (EDT).

Brightway’s corporate office staff provides expertise and support in areas including Customer Service, Accounting, Marketing, Distribution, Business Analytics, Carrier Appointments, Licensing, Onboarding, Training, Hiring and Retaining personnel. The company’s signature after-the-sale service empowers Agency Owners to focus on new business sales and provides their customers the personalized service they deserve.
