Provides daily leadership to Accounting staff to meet expectations. Ensures effective, timely delivery of financial analysis and other work product. Uses experience to define, articulate and describe work necessary to solve complex problems. Identifies system, process, and workflow enhancements. Assigns work throughout the department and follows up on it in a timely way. Inspires team to perform at the highest level with every request, every day.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Guide an oversee the Commission and Financial Analysts Teams
- Lead team that records, reconciles, and charges our franchisees for pass-through-charges along with ensuring the charges and commission payments balance between systems.
- Review and maintain expected KPI levels based on existing Service Level Agreement with internal customers
- Manage the performance of direct reports. This includes:
- Improve, train, lead, and communicate Commissions process changes as necessary. Establish, document, and update process documentation for all processes occurring with the team.
- Collaborate with the team and our Product Managers to help improves processes and implement automation of processes that are scalable as the company grows.
- Performs routine individual discussions to gain a better understanding of job performance and opportunities to improve
- Ensure certain processes of the month-end process is accurate and completed in a timely manner.
- Work with and analyze large sets of data to reach conclusions.
- Project Management activities that impact the team
- Has deep understanding of Accounting and Finance concepts, practices and procedures
- Has deep understanding of Brightway systems, workflows, practices and procedures
- Proactively identifies improvements that would deliver more accurate/easier-to-understand/simpler reports to the business, as well as improvements that would enhance the work environment
- Using deep industry and company knowledge, evaluates the most complex of issues/requests, performs complex analysis and documents steps followed to use that as a training aid for others
- Reviews the work of other, more junior analysts to determine accuracy and provide constructive feedback
- Create and maintain current and procedure manuals for the department
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, 4-6 years’ experience in Accounting/Finance or a related field with 2 years’ management experience
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Excellent attention to detail and able to multi-task
- Deep, broad knowledge of commonly used accounting concepts, practices and procedures
- Excellent customer service mindset: a desire and ability to lead group to superior outcomes
- Excellent communicator; must be able to convey the most complex of ideas in a clear and concise manner
- Ability to learn new Brightway systems and procedures quickly
- Superior independent judgment and decision making
- Superior creativity in problem solving
- Ability to learn, embrace and put into practice new concepts and skills
- Able to gather and analyze facts and data to solve complex problems, draw inferences, weigh alternatives and present logical solutions
