Objectives:
A Training Specialist needs a wide range of skills and abilities that cater to Brightway’s consistent growth and wonderful culture in both the Home Office and Agent-facing environments. Assessing current training needs, developing materials and facilitating training for agency owners, new hires and existing representatives are a few of the ways that a Training Specialist contributes. A Training Specialist will provide daily leadership to their class regardless of who the audience is. They will also ensure effective, timely delivery of projects and meeting business needs. They will identify system, process and workflow enhancements. Finally, and most important, they will inspire the classroom to perform at the highest level every day.
Principal duties and responsibilities:
- Be the “Universal Trainer” that conducts training programs for agency owners, independent agents, new hires and existing employees for multiple lines of business while working to keep training programs vibrant and engaging for the multiple learning styles in the classroom (not just reading from a PowerPoint presentation) with face-to-face and virtual training.
- Be able to gauge when an individual does not understand materials or procedures and provide additional guidance, whether it is one-on-one or assigning materials for review outside of the classroom.
- Take existing training materials and concepts, internalize them and deliver in ways that are authentic to the individual while ensuring to meet current learning objectives.
- While demonstrating flexibility, must be able to update training programs and current processes and procedures based on business needs despite time constraints.
- While being open to feedback whether provided by leadership, interdepartmentally or by class attendees, take the information provided and consistently improve training material and maintain this productive relationship with these individuals.
- Acts as a mentor and leader in the classroom by fostering learning engagement and enthusiasm with a positive attitude.
- Always leads by example and maintains a professional demeanor at all times.
- Able to think outside the box and find quick, effective solutions when dealing with technology or time constraints to ensure a smooth classroom setting.
Internal and external relationships:
Plays a key role as the “face of Brightway leadership and learning” to new hires and existing representatives. Works with all levels of the organization to ensure efficient, yet thorough training.
Qualifications:
- Able to confidently teach and discuss the principles of Brightway’s multiple lines of business (Home, Auto, Flood, Umbrella, Commercial, etc.)
- Able to confidently discuss functions of Brightway Departments and understand points of contacts for resolution
- Able to confidently discuss Brightway’s Business model
- Able to accurately work in Brightway's systems (AMS, Egnyte, BUO, GUI, EZ Lynx, Front End, Applied Rater, other)
- Have a strong knowledge of Microsoft Suite to produce training materials and presentations
- Able to implement new, creative training techniques and activities based on the class skillset and needs
- Clear, effective communicator verbally and in writing with superior interpersonal skills
- Curious, continuously seeking answers and ways to improve the existing training program
- Must currently hold a 20-44 or 220 license or be willing to obtain
- Satisfactory performance and attendance in current role and no current disciplinary actions
- Ideally has worked a minimum of 12 months at Brightway
